Oh, people (Greta especially)! It's been a while since I've written anything, and for that I'm very sorry! But, school has been pretty busy. Grading papers, writing papers, going to classes. It's all a bit much, and, it's only going to get more stressful from here on out. I'm not even sure why I say stressful. I don't get too stressed until it's absolute crunch time (like the last week of classes), and then I'm no fun at all.
Anyways, I feel a need to catch up on some things, namely the run in Miami. It was hot. It was gross. It was the longest 5k that's ever been run. But, it was an absolute blast! I think I sweat more that day than I ever have in my life to that point. Yeah. Gross. But, it was a lot of fun to see all the people there, and it's always good to see that much pink in one place! Pink just makes things feel good, right? So, the race was great! And my mom didn't die.
In other news, I've been working on being frugal and thrifty. Basically, I'm trying to be a good steward of the money I've been given. So, tithing is, of course, part of that. And, beyond that I'm working on eating meals at home and not shopping. Yeah, I know those sound like normal things, but I've never been too good about either of those things.
Cooking has always seemed like such a chore, and shopping, well, shopping is just therapy. I mean, really. Shopping has always just felt so, well, right. Except that, at a certain point, you realize that shopping only makes you feel good for a short time. And, when you shop too much, it's easy to lose sight of what is a need and what is a want. After a while, you just get spoiled. So, I'm keeping my desire to be a consumer in check. It's rough, but it's a good practice.
Well, that's about it for right now. I've got a paper to write. It's going to be boring, but that's just the nature of the thing!
See you!

Thank you for finally telling the world I did not die! And I agree, pink does make everything feel...right, happy, optimistic. Even when dripping with sweat! mom
